Former Imo State Governor Ikedi Ohakim has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for steadying Nigeria since assuming office in 2023.

Ohakim spoke at the inauguration of 12 ward coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, where he said the country was like a sinking ship before President Tinubu took over.

The former governor described the RHA as a movement anchored on unity and grassroots mobilisation, noting that its growing structure would soon outweigh online criticisms.

Imo State RHA’s Coordinator, Goodluck Opiah, said the group would collaborate with party structures to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He noted that many of President Tinubu’s policies have been misinterpreted despite their impact on education, agriculture, and national security.

RHA’s Local Government Coordinator in Isiala Mbano, Chief Ogemdi Ibeawuchi, said the ward coordinators were selected after a thorough screening to drive advocacy, enlightenment and mobilisation in support of government policies and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said the coordinators would work with party and government officials to promote projects executed by the Tinubu administration and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, while also providing feedback from the grassroots.

Ibeawuchi pledged the loyalty of the Isiala Mbano chapter to President Tinubu, Governor Uzodimma and the state RHA leadership.

Also, the APC Chairman in Isiala Mbano, C.Y. Obichendu, urged the coordinators to work in unity with party structures, assuring them of support.

Deputy Majority Leader, Imo State House of Assembly, Sam Osuji, described the ward ambassadors as strategic mobilisers, pledging support for the RHA and APC in the area.

Also, the member representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Miriam Onuoha, commended the growth of the RHA and expressed confidence in collaboration between the group and the APC.

Isiala Mbano Local Government Chairman Chika Okoroike said the council remained committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda and APC mobilisation ahead of future elections.
