Vice-Chancellor Commends Seamless Conduct of RSU 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise

The Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi, has expressed satisfaction with the smooth and efficient conduct of the ongoing Post-UTME screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the University for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

Speaking after monitoring the exercise on Monday 27 July 2026, Professor Zeb-Obipi noted that the fully automated screening process has significantly enhanced the University’s operational efficiency and capacity. According to him, the digital examination system enables the University to accommodate more batches of candidates each day while ensuring a seamless and stress-free screening experience.

The Vice-Chancellor explained that candidates’ results are generated automatically and delivered directly to the email addresses provided during registration. He added that the system also provides real-time performance analytics across Faculties and Disciplines, thereby enhancing the transparency, accuracy and effectiveness of the admission process.

Professor Zeb-Obipi further stated that the digitalization of the University’s admission process strengthens transparency and accountability while eliminating opportunities for admission racketeering. He warned prospective students and their parents against seeking admission through unofficial channels, emphasizing that the automated system is designed to detect and prevent fraudulent practices.

He commended the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Richard N. Amadi; the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICTC), Prof. Sunny Orike; the Admissions Officer, Barr. Angela Aligbe; Security Personnel, as well as Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff for their dedication, teamwork and innovative contributions to the successful conduct of the screening exercise.

Professor Zeb-Obipi reaffirmed the University’s commitment to sustaining a transparent, merit-based admission process driven by technology, efficiency and integrity.

The 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise commenced on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on Friday, 31 July 2026.

A total of 12,256 candidates registered for the screening exercise, reflecting the high level of interest in admission to Rivers State University for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
